After a 13-year split, the Artifacts, the New Jersey group consisting of El Da Sensei, Tame One and DJ Kaos, have gotten back together. The group, responsible for underground classics such as “Wrong Side of the Tracks,” remianed amicable, and after a brief, but chemistry-filled reunion at the Rock Steady Crew anniversary and at the closing of the New York Fat Beats record store, the two MCs decided to get back to doing what they did best, as Tame One told Adam “B-List” Bernard, “The current state of the music game made us want to try to make a difference.”
Touring and performing to help reintroduce a new generation to Artifacts music, the duo has been hitting up stages around the country, and will be performing in Austin, Texas for the 2011 SXSW Music Festival, performing at Fuze on Wednesday, March 16 into March 17th, at 12:30 a.m. (El Da Sensei is also slated to appear during the DJBooth/2DopeBoyz/Last Rights showcase at The Dizzy Rooster, Friday, 3/18 between noon-8 p.m.)
