The NY Hip Hop Report with Manny Faces, once a weekly podcast that ran from 2012 through 2015, re-emerged from its hiatus with an hour-long “Special Episode” re-introducing the innovative program. The episode, a fully-produced, live video broadcast, featured show creator and host Manny Faces as he recapped his experiences covering the music portion of the 2017 SXSW Conference and Festivals.
Manny Faces (who is also the founder and Editor in Chief of Birthplace Magazine, which ‘presents’ the series) reported on several New York-area artists, from mainstream acts such as Young M.A., Dave East and Desiigner, to various independent artists, including Sammus, The Band Called FUSE, Shinobi Ninja and others, displaying video footage and photographs with cable news-esque information crawls and transition effects throughout.
“The new format of The NY Hip Hop Report allows me to incorporate multimedia in a way that no audio podcast can,” Manny says. “It’s a ton of work to put something like this together, but it really helps the mission of telling New York’s authentic hip-hop stories.”
“Plus,” he added with a confident smirk, “It looks AMAAAZING!”
The NY Hip Hop Report with Manny Faces will return to a weekly schedule beginning Wednesday, April 12, 2017 and will air live on Manny’s Facebook profile page. The archived version will continue to be housed on Facebook, as well as shared to the show’s site at www.NYHipHopReport.com.
