Since 1999, T.I. has ascended to rap’s highest echelon, gaining millions of fans and influencing thousands of artists who came up in the wake of this King of the South. From grimy, soul-influenced trap music, to rocking alongside pop superstar Justin Timberlake, Atlanta’s Rubberband Man has made an undeniable mark on the genre, and continues his artistic evolution to this day.

T.I.’s maintained the attention of rap fans through the years, although it hasn’t always been for the best reasons. Despite run-ins with the law and a jail stint after weapons and drug possession charges, T.I. has remained visible, through his music, but also through the high-profile attention that reality TV provided.

Recently, T.I. has been more and more vocal about his political views, making music and speaking out regarding societal ills including racism, police brutality and the ascension of Donald Trump to the presidency. Through his Us Or Else EP (and matching short film which spawned the video for “Believe”), T.I. is adding a strong, impassioned voice to the “resistance” conversation.

All this while overseeing a crew of young musical upstarts blazing their own trail as part of his label, Grand Hustle Records.

T.I.’s nearly 20-year long career will be on full display on Monday, May 8, 2017 as he brings “The Hustle Gang Tour” to New York City’s B.B. King Blues Club on 42nd Street.

Tickets are on sale now, and likely to sell out. Despite New York’s often being stubbornly in its hip-hop feelings about Southern rap, T.I. has always been widely accepted up North, and his recent Us Or Else EP in particular delivers the kind of thoughtful, socially conscious and thumping hip-hop New Yorkers appreciate.

In fact, we’re so supportive of T.I.’s recent work, we want to make sure people get to see what he’s doing these days. We managed to snatch up a couple pairs of tickets to the show at B.B. King’s and we’re giving them away to Birthplace Magazine readers!

Now, we still suggest you grab tickets, but if you want to give winning a shot, fill out the quick form below. We’ll announce winners by Sunday, May 7.
