The PitchBlak Brass Band, renowned for their exciting and energetic melding of classical music, NoLA-inspired horn work and hip-hop sensibilities, continue enlightening audiences with their monthly residency at Brooklyn’s Manhattan Inn.
The PitchBlack Playlist event series, which happens (usually) on the final Sunday of every month, features the band teaming up with New York indie-hip-hop luminaries to deliver one-of-a-kind collaborative experiences.
Fresh off of teaming up with veteran wordsmith Pharoahe Monch for an electric performance as part of this year’s Ecstatic Music Festival, the PBB crew has welcomed some of NYC’s most heralded underground MCs to light up the intimate setting, including Rabbi Darkside and Silent Knight.
Photos of Silent Knight’s performance can be seen below, courtesy of Bruce Kung. The PitchBlak Playlist, presented by HYPNOCRAFT, returns Monday, April 25 with JSWISS gracing the stage. Cover is a ‘sliding scale’ $5-$10 donation.
