Casanova, Heron Demarco & Cymarshall Law deliver gritty, energetic, inspiring new releases. Pretty much in that order.

We weave through some new releases including the gritty "Don't Run" from Brooklyn's Casanova, the energetically musical "Monster" from Far Rock's Heron Demarco and Cymarshall Law's inspiring "Malcolm, Martin & Madiba"

Casanova’s gritty, ridiculously high-energy “Don’t Run” invokes the best and worst of grimy, screwed-up-face New York City street hip-hop. Helped along in the radio/club scenes by Power 105.1’s DJ Self, the Brooklyn spitter’s “Don’t Run” will be getting run for a minute. Some say it might end up being a monster jam…

In the meantime, Heron Demarco does have a monster jam. Another high-energy affair, “Monster” smashes together sounds and styles in one well-produced, well-delivered burst of highly listenable creativity. Watch for more coming soon from this Far Rockaway representative.

While looking for a way to bring in a third joint, I just decided that today’s episode of Connect The New York Hip-Hop Dots is brought to you by the Letters C (Casanova) and M (“Monster”) (which is a stretch, but it’s all I need because it’s my column). So, here’s Cymarshall Law (& Mr. Joeker) with the cherry on the alliteration cake with “Martin, Malcolm & Madiba,” along with a little help from students at Harry Truman High School in the Bronx. Cymarshall Law’s Hip-Hop in the Soul 3 due out in May.
