We’re back with another New York rap roundup! Without any further ado, let’s get right into it.
Meyhem Lauren & Buckwild – “100 MPH” ft. Action Bronson
This video is so New York, it shits dirty water dogs and salted jumbo pretzels. (Wait…what?) In any event, this video and song come from Meyhem Lauren & Buckwild’s 2014 EP, Silk Pyramids, and brings Action Bronson along for the wild ride. Check out the video, directed by Meyhem Lauren himself, below.

Core Rhythm – Uncle Haywood & Lucien LP
French DJ/producer Zajazza met Core Rhythm in a bar in New York City, and their musical lives haven’t been the same since. Many a New York legend was born from stories similar to this one, and this album serves that tradition well, combining a nouveaux-boho style of New York rap with the intercontinental rhythms of Lyon (France) and Barcelona (Spain). Check out the jazzy, lyrical album below.
Oh! Fun fact: Core Rhythm is also known as Mtume Gant, who was interviewed for this very site by our own Andrea Krepelka, regarding his upcoming short film Spit.
Ohene Cornelius – “Top of the Game”
Moving along to a more AfroPunk-style of hip hop, Ohene Cornelius isn’t afraid to invite people to be at the “top of their game,” and in fact strives to do so with this video. Dark, yet sexy, with a little bit of comedy for good measure, the video strives to convince us all that human beings are complex, and there’s no such thing as a topical solution. Check out the video below, directed by Ian Cinco, and pick up “Top of the Game” via iTunes.

Juxx Diamondz feat. Skanks, Nutso, Rim Da Villin, Foul Monday, Starvin B and Greezi Amiin – “Scenario”
Juxx Diamondz recruited damn near every rapper in the Tri-State area to spit a guest verse on this track, a remake of what is arguably hip hop’s best posse cut. Despite the pressure to live up to it’s legacy, the spitters did the song a fair amount of justice. Check it out below.
Pop Dollarz feat. Neno Calvin – “M3RE Champion”
My buddy Chasin’ Mo Paper over at Thisis50.com turned me on to the South Bronx representative, and on this song, he’s demonstrating an energetic blend of classic Bronx attitude and modern rap styles. Check out “M3re Champion,” produced by MJ Nichols and featuring Neno Calvin, below.
