Top 5 Places in New York That Beyonce & Jay Z Should Consider Moving To

Jay Z, Beyonce Moving to Los Angeles

Jay Z and Beyonce are no longer in an Empire State of Mind, and are heading for LaLa Land. Here are a few nearby choices they could have picked instead.

With the announcement that HOVA and Mrs. Carter are moving to Los Angeles “for a change of scenery,” and have already enrolled Blue Ivy in a school in Los Angeles, we here at Birthplace can’t help but wonder why the Carters haven’t considered a different part of New York if they wanted a different penthouse view. After all, Jay Z and New York go together like pretzels and mustard, Broadway shows and Andrew Lloyd Webber, hipsters and Williamsburg!

So, with help from our friends at Movoto, we’ve compiled the top 5 places in New York that Jayonce should consider moving to before they pack up and go all “Hollywood” on us:

Scarsdale

One of the best places in Westchester County to live has some of the greatest bits of quality of life for the Carter family: It has the highest median household income in the state, and one of the highest in the country. Plus, when Blue Ivy goes to school, she’ll have the advantage of a 13:1 student-to-teacher ratio… One of the best ratios in the state.

Mount Kisco

Even though Mount Kisco has some questionable origins, the way of life is second-to-none — quiet, comfortable, and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan to not be affected by it (but not so far that it’s inaccessible). Also, if Beyonce likes to go shopping, she can take comfort in knowing that Mount Kisco has the lowest sales tax in the state of New York (a mere 7%!)!

White Plains

If Mount Kisco is too country for our favorite city-dwelling couple, they should consider moving to the “commercial capital of Westchester County,” White Plains! Like NYC, White Plains has a great number of amenities, like coffee shops, restaurants, malls and museums… All with a local, “small town”-like flair.

Tarrytown

Best known as being the setting for the famous Washington Irving story, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the home of the Headless Horseman (or the Horseless Headsman, if you haven’t had a Snickers bar) is actually the safest town in the entire state of New York, with a crime rate of .008%! It’s also home to many of the nation’s wealthiest families, such as — appropriately enough for Bey and Jay — the Rockefellers. Come on, it’s PERFECT — Roc-a-Fella and Rockefeller in the same town!

Mamaroneck

Ranked as the best place to live in New York by Movoto, Mamaroneck has a population of only 19,000, meaning that the Carter family will have loads of privacy (which is so essential as their family grows…and grows up!). Plus, it has a high median income rate, a low unemployment rate, and (supposedly) the best pizza in the whole state of New York!
