Speaking with Manny Faces and Steve Ortiz on weekly New York hip hop talk radio show The NY Hip Hop Report, McDaniels hinted at the possibility of the re-creation of an iconic rap collaboration, explaining that Lefrak City’s Akinyele will be on hand to join Large Professor, and fellow “Live from the BBQ” collaborator Fatal might be on deck, leaving the possibility of the one and only Nasty Nas to to make a special appearance commemorating the song that launched him to fame.

“Maybe we’ll get a little “Live At The BBQ”… I gotta call Fatal and then we’re gonna work on Mr. Nasty Nas… Nas is gonna be around… Fatal’s in Brooklyn… It’s not that hard to pull that off…”

Former longtime Hot 97 DJ and current 103.9 FM spinner DJ Mister Cee as well as Bomb Squad member Keith Shocklee, Brooklyn’s DJ Lance and DJ Big Jeff will round out the DJ lineup.

With the legacy that Ralph McDaniels and Video Music Box has under their belt, there is no telling who else might roll through, especially considering the amount of music, sports and entertainment luminaries expected to be in town for the NBA festivities.

Tickets are on sale, a veritable bargain at $20, and can be purchased at TicketWeb or by calling 646.296.3202 or 347.813.8654.
