Kirk Knight – “Brokeland (Prod. by Kirk Knight)”
For my first roundup piece of the day, I’m letting my speakers knock to Pro Era‘s Kirk Knight and “Brokeland.” A single off no specific project, Kirk keeps his name relevant on the blog scene by stepping in front of the mic, as well as being being behind the production board, dropping a spacey, guitar-laced head-nodder. Kudos for the new piece to ride to today. First the successful debut of crew frontman Joey Bada$$, and now this, shows Pro Era is continuing to prosper on for the 2015. “Go Brooklyn!”
YL – “Tan Gators (Prod. by Yogi)”
Not much is delved from YL outside of he’s from New York City and has a very jazzy ear for production. “Tan Gators” is produced by Yogi and with the essence of a yogist, this song’s entire execution is, at the very least, therapeutic. If YL put out a full length project, feel free to send that our way, otherwise for now, this was calm enough to take in for the day. Get familiar below:
Lennon Empire – “Who’s He ft. Jordan Lee (Prod. by Lennon Empire)
Producer Lennon Empire grabs Jordan Lee for a real neat trip through his mind with “Who’s He.” Catching me at first listen, I thought it took a bit too long for the instrumental to ride in until we heard bars, but upon finding out Lennon was the actual producer, I understood why he opted to keep this beat knocking. Good production for sure. Get familiar to what’s really real according to Lennon and Lee right now right now.
Nyce Da Future ft. Lot A Nerv – “Good Morning/Get Away Remix” [Visual]
My first visual coverage of the day comes from Nyce Da Future, a proclaimed affiliate of Queensbridge’s Mobb Deep, and his video for “Good Morning/Get Away.” No, these aren’t his own beats, but Nyce felt like going off for four minutes, with Lot A Nerv adding the remainder of the two minutes. Click the play button and decide for yourself if Nyce is truthfully the future he proclaims. Ski Mask Season 2.0 out right now right now.

Kendrick Lamar – “The Blacker The Berry”
With no title yet announced for the sophomore effort from TDE’s Kendrick Lamar, we’re treated to a powerful song K. Dot is putting pressure on the rap game with. Following two Grammy wins, Kendrick proves his worth in the rap game with “The Blacker The Berry,” showing once again that content can go deeper than money and tricking. Always thought-provoking with creative flows and mindstates, we almost never feature out-of-state acts, but this song was too strong an effort from on of this generation’s most valuable artists to NOT post! Plus, we know our NY heads will feel this. Click below and go dumb. (And don’t let the cover art deceive you as K. Dot pays homage to one of the most famous lines of our favorite deceased Cali rapper!) Salute Boi-1da on the beat.
