Harlem rapstress Azealia Banks broke down her opinions on several issues of the hip hop day in her interview with EBro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez from Hot 97.
Banks spoke about her failed Interscope deal, moving to Tunecore, and how she approaches her music business.
Creating the most buzz, Azealia Banks spoke on her disdain for rappers like Iggy Azalea and Action Bronson, stirring up a response throughout the internet. In particular, her position against Iggy Azalea and the “undercurrent of fuck you” in how white artists have been moving into the rap world.
Banks’ comments, emotional at times, certainly caused a stir, with lines like “I have a problem when you say it’s hip hop, when you put it up against black culture.” Further, Azealia went at other white artists, including Action Bronson and Macklemore, calling out the recent advance of white artists across the rap landscape.
