A$AP Ferg drops Ferg Forever as a Black Friday gift to fans. The 19-track offering features production by Clams Casino, Stelios Phili, Mike Will and Big KRIT. Vocal features include fellow A$AP Mob comrade A$AP Nast, Big Sean, Twista, SZA and others.
A$AP Ferg teased his Ferg Forever mixtape with a few early releases from the project, the last being the subdued, but thoughtful “Talk It,” produced by Clams Casino. Showing a bit of range, both audibly and lyrically, Ferg veered from typical trap-influenced tracks and lyrics, to question some serious issues, including the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, the subject of much of America’s conversations this Thanksgiving week.
Ferg’s Black Friday, DJ Drama-hosted mixtape release marks the latest release from the A$AP Mob, brought to mainstream attention by frontman A$AP Rocky. A$AP Ferg has emerged as one of the collectives more popular members.
Editor’s note: I don’t usually do the ‘review’ thing, but since someone asked, this is how I replied: I’m not a young, mosh pitting, trap-music-influenced hip hop head, so it’s not going to ‘appeal’ to me too tough lol.. That being said, I thought there was some good range, musically and lyrically. Couple of personal joints, “Uncle,” “Thug Cry,” which were more enjoyable to me, well produced, more traditional… while some of the other joints were too smoked out/weirdo/trappy for me… But decent range and gave me a change to give him a good listen without being completely turned off as if he had only rocked one style..
