Queens Library to Host Month-Long Hip Hop Event Series

Queens Library Hip Hop

The Queens Library network will host “31 Days of Non-Stop Hip Hop,” an event series that will feature a hip hop-related event every day for the entire month of May.

Events will include multiple elements of hip hop music and culture, including a May 1 kickoff with DJ Kool Herc and Marley Marl.

During the month, events will include speakers, discussions, sharing of ideas and memories, DJ battles, MC battles, a “break dance” expo, graffiti expo and more. The events will feature local artists, and include many events geared toward teenagers.

The program will culminate on May 31 with an appearance by Video Music Box creator and television pioneer Ralph McDaniels.
