Emicida
(Brazil)
I had the honor of meeting one of Brazil’s finest the other day in New York, Emicida from São Paulo. His name is a fusion of the word “emcee” and homicide — in other words, a killer MC!
Emicida was in NY doing some collaborations, his DJ rocked a party and they took some meetings, all while buzzing from making a big splash performing at the 2014 SXSW music festival.
Below is the video for “Obrigado, Darcy!” featuring Rael. (I love the English subtitles.) This song was commissioned by Apex Brazil as a collaboration for SXSW.
Fun fact: You can also hear Emicida’s music on the soundtrack to the revered Rockstar Games title Max Payne 3, a great thrill for Emicida, who grew up a gamer!

SIDO
(Germany)
SIDO is a German MC who has had a healthy career that started around 2003 and is still going strong. With several compilations, collaborations, hot singles and albums over the years SIDO is signed to Aggro Berlin, a well-known independent rap label. SIDO is currently on tour in Europe.
Check out the video for his synth-driven headbanger “Fühl dich frei,” off his new album 30-11-80.

Fuzati / Naïve New Beaters
(France)
According to a reliable source, Fuzati released new music a few weeks ago but, I’ve had a hard time tracking it down. Fuzati is one of my fave French MCs, and is the co-founder of a group called Klub des Loosers, based out of Versailles.
I do know he has a new album coming out on April 21st called Grand Siècle with Orgasmic, of highly buzzing producer collective Sound Pellegrino. In the meantime, vibe to the smooth “C’est Gratuit” from Naïve New Beaters featuring Fuzati. Their The Guestlist mixtape is a free download, so cop it here.
Let me know how you like it!

Shi 360
(Israel)
Without going to deep– Shi 360 is an Israeli MC who has performed in the U.S. a few times with a brand new song featuring Jo, from France. Inspired by the current climate in France and a longing for peace and prosperity, this song called “Imagine.” Shi 360’s recent mixtape The Inglorious Basterd is available through U.S.-based DJBooth.net.

Joe Flizzow
(Malaysia)
Joe Flizzow is fast becoming the hot sensation from Malaysia. He was just in New York shooting a series of videos for his upcoming Malay album and we are hoping to bring him to an international hip hop showcase this year. Maybe something like A3C…. More on that later, shhhhh.
You can read more about Joe Flizzow on MTV Iggy, but for now, check out his song “Havoc” featuring Altimet and Sonaone, off of his Havoc album.
