Everyone’s favorite slow-flowing Harlem World representative, Ma$e, returns from the shadows and drops a smoothed out ditty, questioning “Why Can’t We” go back to how it used to be.
In fact, the track, flow, singing and overall vibe feels a little bit like we did. And it’s not a bad thing.
M-a-dollar-sign-e will undoubtedly catch some flack for straying from his post-heyday religiousness, but if you can get past that and not judge (since you probably shouldn’t anyway), this definitely sounds like classic shiny-suit-era Ma$e, without sounding dated and cornballish. Certainly worth checking out, especially if you like how it used to be.
