Six Minutes with Manny Faces is our new audio column/podcast. We plan to bring you several of these per month, highlighting interesting and intriguing individuals we have come across while documenting the many facets of the New York hip hop universe.
This is our first episode.
Jus Daze has his work cut out for him.
Aside from the normal trials and tribulations facing an independent musician striving for success, this hip hop representative from Queens has had to deal with the burden of a lifelong physical disability, his extreme bow-legged gait the most prominent feature.
Despite this, Jus Daze has emerged as a well respected competitor on the battle rap circuit, a consistent music-maker, a well-received freestyler on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and, perhaps most poignantly, an inspiration to many.
It is this theme that resonates the most throughout his latest project, the dual-meaning Walk Twice As Hard. On this album, Jus Daze gets personal, and delivers an inside look at just how difficult is can be to walk in his shoes, but also, how sweet it can be to reach goals along the way.
Walk Twice As Hard will be available beginning November 12, 2013 on Bandcamp and Google Play.
