Lawsuit: NYPD Forced Man to Rap For His Freedom

The NY Post tells the story of Quinshon “Sauce Da Boss” Shingles who was among several people detained by NYPD officers in 2011 while a search was being conducted. The officers, once finding out that he was an aspiring rapper, then prodded the handcuffed Shingles to “rap something if you want to go home.”

Shingles performed briefly, and was subsequently released.

“I felt like they were humiliating me,” Shingles told the Post.

The incident has prompted a lawsuit.
