Maybe it’s because I was one of those little white boys from Long Island just trying to get my rhyme on (and this was waaay back, when it was even less likely), but I enjoyed this. “Hope,” a seemingly autobiographical, keep-ya-head-up type of song could easily be candidate for radio play, along with similar power-pop/hip hop that’s finding its own niche on the 92.3s and Z100s of the world.
The song is well-produced, the video is well shot, the lyrics are heartfelt and the overall vibe is positive.
You know. The kind of hip hop people say doesn’t really exist?
