New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert (aka 2wo 1ne) isn’t just sitting on the bench, quietly growing a vintage flattop while watching his team shock the league with their outstanding start this season.
The 6′ 5″ baller apparently has more than just hoop dreams, as evidenced by “Anarchy,” which is — *gasp* — a rap song by an NBA player that actually doesn’t suck.
“Anarchy” features PhlyyB (which reads like the sound a baby makes when he doesn’t want to eat his food), who does a capable job delivering a Weezy-esque verse, but it’s Shumpert who carries the song with a pretty strong mix of swagger, bars and cadence.
Iman Shumpert has been waylayed during the Knicks meteoric start of the 2012-2013 season, recovering from a devastating injury suffered during the first game of last year’s playoffs. he is often spotted alongside his team dressed in street clothes, as he awaits what is likely to be a January return.
“Anarchy” is no groundbreaking opus, but for entertainment value, it’s one of the better NBA-player-slash-rapper offerings.
The video for “Anarchy” was directed by Dan Folger of Edge Media.
