The annual A3C Hip Hop Festival will take place from October 11-13, 2012 and will usher into Atlanta more than 300 artists, a film festival, panel discussions, competitions and a streetwear expo that will have The A buzzing with hip hop activity for the weekend.
Turntablism, MC, producer and breakdance competitions as well as a film festival and pro audio demonstrations will help round out the hip hop festivities as A3C enters it’s eighth year as one of the country’s largest hip hop festivals, certainly the largest in the Southeast. The festival began in 2005 as a small showcase, but since has grown in attendance and cache, reporting more than 15,000 attended the festival in 2011. Numbers are expected to be high again as an onslaught of talent from across the country will descend on the Atlanta area for two days and three nights worth of hot hip hop happenings.
BirthplaceMag.com will present a New York Hip Hop Artists At A3C guide, which will be available in the coming days. In addition, Birthplace Magazine founder and Editor-in-Chief Manny Faces will be a panelist at the “I Rock a Mic But Don’t Rap” print/digital media panel on Thursday, October 11, starting at 6:00 at the Highland Ballroom. The panel will be moderated by journalist, radio and show host The Company Man, and will feature other hip hop journalism luminaries, including Dallas Penn, Lowkey and DJ Z.
While some changes can still be expected, A3C reports that the extensive artist lineup is fairly complete, and features many artists from across the hip hop spectrum.
