DJ Khaled drops “Hip Hop,” featuring Nas, Scarface and DJ Premier to a tidal wave of approval. The J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League produced track simply hits hard as hell, audibly and lyrically.
“This shit special!” Khaled belts at the beginning of “Hip Hop,” and judging by the furious buzz throughout Internetwille, he’s right. The gravelly-voiced veteran Scarface launches right into a haunting verse over a slow, rumbling track with plucky notes over heavy drums. Nas follows up with his renewed flow, slaying his own verse in an autobiographically metaphoric display of expert wordplay.
Premier, arguably one of hip hop’s most revered producing DJs cuts up vocal samples in his nearly-trademarked manner.
“Hip Hop” is from DJ Khaled’s Kiss The Ring, expected to hit stores August 21.
