The 2012 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival made history, bringing together two iconic groups for one iconic song, for the first time in 20 years. Final day concert headliner Busta Rhymes reunited with the group that birthed his career, Leaders of the New School, to be joined by the members of A Tribe Called Quest for a raucous rendition of “Scenario.”
It was pretty epic.
Throughout the hot summer day, many performers touched the stage at the sprawling site, Pier 3 of Brooklyn Bridge Park, including winners of previous competitions, local and national artists, a freestyle competition and guest stars who joined Busta, including Buckshot, Billy Danze of M.O.P. and Slick Rick.
The event was hosted by rapper Kosha Dillz, songstress Maya Azucena and legendary hip hop video show personality Ralph McDaniels.
BirthplaceMag.com’s Sean Rhinehart of SeanJamar.com handled shutterbug duties and captured the festivities of the day in his usual, gripping manner.
