Since many of our readers are participants in this here hip hop music biz, we want to help spread the word from our friends down at the A3C Hip Hop Festival, going down from October 11-13 in Atlanta, Georgia.
The festival, now entering it’s 8th year, is chock full of opportunities for artists, upcoming and veteran alike, including performances, equipment and skill demonstrations, panels and much, much more.
(Birthplace Magazine is a proud media sponsor of this year’s festival, and will be on-hand during the three-day event).
This year, submissions for performances are being handled through SonicBids, and while the fee is normally a nominal $15, for one day only (Friday, August 17) it is a mere $10.
Aside from the Sonicbids submissions, there are several other sessions for artists and producers, including the iStandard Producer Showcase, a DJ competition, an emcee showcase and competition and a film festival.

A3C HIP HOP FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE PRO-AUDIO EXPERIENCE AND A3C FILM FESTIVAL October 11-13, 2012
(ATLANTA, GA – August 17, 2012) Atlanta’s annual A3C Hip Hop Festival presents the Pro-Audio Experience in partnership with the Steel Magnolia Group October 11-13, 2012 in the Masquerade featuring an expanded vendor market, panel discussions, demonstrations, competitions, radio broadcasts, live performances and a presentation by Young Guru, Jay-Z’s touring DJ and standby engineer.
The annual iStandard Producer Showcase presented by Native Instruments and Maschine will take place October 11 and places aspiring beatmakers in front of a panel of prominent industry executives to receive constructive feedback and compete for a coveted prize package. N2TR will also feature performances by three-time Scribble Jam Champion DJ Presyce, DJ Teddy Two of the Awesome Two and a special live set by DMC Champion DJ Shiftee. PNCRadio.fm will host a live radio broadcast of widely popular “The Combat Jack Show” on October 12 featuring hosts Combat Jack, Dallas Penn, Just Blaze, Premium Pete, A-King, Matt Raz and DJ Benhameen. The show will include a live interview and a performance by a special surprise guest. On Saturday, October 13, “Young Guru Presents: The Era of The Engineer” will focus on music engineering, recording and production through demonstrations, panels, lectures and a live performance by Young Guru.
The Circus presented by The Couch Sessions on October 13 is a genre-bending live music event that blurs the lines between Hip Hop, alternative, jazz and soul music. The Circus is hosted by The Company Man with sounds by DJ Run P.
B.L.A.P. presented by !llmind and powered by Native Instruments on October 13 allows producers to determine how a general party crowd will respond to their beats. The goal for each producer is to keep the crowd rocking. A3C B.L.A.P. participants include J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, Apollo Brown, Needlz, Oddisee, !llmind, Focus and more to be announced.
Enter the Cypher by IMSARAHWEST in partnership with V-103’s Greg Street and DJ Jelly features 10 unsigned artists from various regions competing across multiple elimination rounds. The winner gets to perform an original set at the end of the evening in addition to receiving a prize package. A3C artists will also participate in a cypher showcase.
