The 3rd American Beatbox Championships will take place over the course of two days, in Brooklyn and then in Manhattan, August 11 and 12, 2012.
From open mics and showcases, to the main battle tournament event, this yearly event pays tribute to beatboxing, a complex, artistic and often under-appreciated aspect of hip hop music and culture.
Curated and produced by Chesney Snow of the World Beatbox Association, the American Beatbox Championships will include performances and showcase events, culminating in the big, 16-beatboxer finale battle. As in years past, the opening night is bound to contain surprise guests and impromptu performances that demonstrate the extreme level of skill the art of beatboxing has progressed to. Expected to showcase their talents are many beatboxers from across the country, with a special performance by reigning champion, J- Flo, as well as Three Man Ill, LethalFX, Heaven Beatbox and Word of Mouf and more.
J-Flo will also be defending his title on Sunday for the final showdown tourney, to be judged by beatboxing legend Rahzel, among others.

The opening night will be held in Brooklyn, at Littlefield, located at 622 Degraw Street in the Gowanus area. The final night will be held at Le Poisson Rouge, at 158 Bleeker Street in the Village.
