I’ve known The Company Man for a while. We met during his stint with Brooklyn Bodega, and I had always wanted to be a guest on his excellent radio program, Bodega Radio, on internet radio station PNCRadio.fm. Our schedules never connected, but recently, this talented interviewer, show host, and hip hop connoisseur, branched off from the Bodega enterprise and now has two slots on PNC Radio with schedules more in line with mine. As such, I made it my business to accept his long standing request to appear as a guest, the results of which, are below.
Let me say, and I believe many people in the New York underground/indie hip hop scene would agree, that I respect The Company Man very much. For his ambition, his love for the music and culture, his interview abilities and wide-ranging knowledge of the music and culture. Above all, he has always been a cool cat, and it was a pleasure to appear on his show, a show that I highly recommend our audience pay attention to.
I hope that our on-air talk gave some insight as to what I am working to accomplish with Birthplace Magazine, and that my appearance was worthy of his program. (Note: Following me was an excellent in-house appearance by Silent Knight and A Band Called Fuse, which was certainly worthy. Do check that out as well.)
In any event, videos of the bulk of the interview are below, as well as the full audio recap via The Company Man’s SoundCloud.
The Company Man Show runs every Wednesday (the countdown show) and Thursday (#inboxsessions), from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on PNCRadio.fm.
