Though their sum is greater their parts, the growth of The Brown Bag AllStars collective can be partially attributed to the parts being as good as the sum. In-house production nearly guarantees that the music backing a BBAS MC won’t sound out-of-place, and J57’s melancholy production on “Awaken” helps evoke just the right mood for KONCEPT’s introspectively biographic flow. Completing the triple-play, the video excellently plays with landscape, sunlight and close-up to tie in with the solemnly nostalgic vibe.
