French Montana, Jadakiss – Back of the Benz

French Montana’s ever-growing stock gets another small boost, joining forces with Jadakiss for “Back of the Benz,” a laid back tale revolving loosely around mobile sexcapades that Funkmaster Flex debuted on his Hot 97 show.

French Montana is somewhat of a polarizing figure in New York hip hop right now. With a steadily increasing visibility, he manages to obtain co-signs and collaborations with semi-heavy hitters in the game, but feedback regarding his abilities invariably wavers between love and hate for the Bronx rapper, with little middle ground. His Coke Boys 2 mixtape is receiving a decent amount of streetside buzz, but many simply can’t figure out Montana’s appeal. While he doesn’t blow anyone away lyrically, he seems to connects with fans of New York street rap in a way that is increasing his stock, despite often heated dissent.

Though we’ve personally not been partial to much French Montana work to this point, there is no denying that his name comes up enough to warrant sharing current drops with our audience. That being said, since Flex dropped bombs on this newly minted collaboration with the consistently strong Jadakiss, we thought we’d pass it along.
