BET Cypher: Nitty Scott, MC + ‘Auntie Maria’s Crib’ [VIDEO]

The BET Hip-Hop Awards aired last night, and among the highlights were the always-at-least-mildly entertaining Cyphers, the segments where groups of MCs rock over a track spun by veteran DJ/Producer DJ Premier. This year’s entries rocked over the James Brown “Big Payback” sample, and among the “new school” cypher segment, Brooklyn-based Nitty Scott, MC started things off.

We’ve seen Nitty Scott, MC around the way of course, most notably recently rocking at the 2011 Brookyln Hip-Hop Festival held underneath the Brooklyn Bridge in July. After the show, our Steven Ortiz sat down and spoke with the buzzing beauty about her musical endeavors, which we published in an recent interview piece.

Also in that post, we delivered Nitty Scott, MC’s new song “Auntie Maria’s Crib,” and since then, the video for the smooth production has emerged, so after checking out the cypher, which also highlighted Christian rapper Lacrae, Marseille-based MC Saprano, who delighted viewers with a rapid-fire french flow, with English songstress Estelle dropping a few bars herself (it’s not the first time).
