The ILLZ has been dropping a steady stream of emotionally charged music, cohesively creative videos, for months, and is the type of artist that we don’t post up enough about, but not because his work is not worthy. In fact, the opposite. The artistic way he approaches his craft (including highly-conceived and produced videos) is worthy of more than a simplistic “here’s his new joint” type of post. That being said, we can’t continue to wait to profile his growing body of work, and among his recent visual efforts, “In Between Us” and “In Between Us (Remix)” are as effective an exhibition of his artistry as is anything else in his repertoire, though there is much more in his arsenal that could have made this column.
