Styles P. enlists Busta Rhymes and Rick Ross to join him over a smoothed out track, but don’t let the jovial glockenspiels dancing around the underbelly of the beat fool you. These three treat the track a bit, well, harsh.
Busta Rhymes has been steadily re-raising his stock in recent months, with breakout hits alongside Chris Brown, the mega-hyped “Otis” remix with usually-troubled rap veteran DMX, and delivering lively performances throughout the country, proving in his wake that he can indeed still lead among the new school.
I mean, we’re still replaying Busta’s emphatic appearance alongside Q-Tip at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival last month in our minds.
Meanwhile, Styles P. The Ghost plans to release a mixtape any moment now, reportedly to be titled something like The World’s Hardest MC, as a prelude to his upcoming album, Master of Ceremonies, which is tentatively due out in September.
Not immediately known which, if either, project “Harsh” is, but it’s enjoyable, and rewindable. Give it a listen and see (hear) for yourself.
