Veteran hip hop duo EPMD join Funkmaster Flex for a the free park jam, with Rakim, one of the genre’s greatest talents, headlining at the main stage at Central Park on Sunday, August 21 starting at 3 p.m.
The “Salute To Hip-Hop” series is another free park concert orchestrated by New York’s City Parks Foundation as part of their summer-long SummerStage series. Earlier this year, New Yorkers were treated to the likes of Talib Kweli, iconic rap group The Sugarhill Gang, among others in all genres of music, staging shows in all boroughs.

As the summer winds down, there are a few concerts lined up, including notable Salsero Tito Rojas, pioneering hip hop group The Cold Crush Brothers and R&B songstress Melanie Fiona.
In the meantime, check out a couple of hip hop acts that were the best to ever do it, Sunday August 21 beginning at 3 p.m. at the main stage in Central Park and watch as EPMD and Rakim get down to business as they move the crowd.
