“Otis,” the hotly discussed single from the Jay-Z / Kanye West collaborative album juggernaut Watch The Throne was given the visual treatment by Spike Jonze and debuted on MTV, adding to the onslaught of Watch The Throne-related news over the last few days.

Here’s me live blogging me watching the “Otis” video for the first time.


A Maybach. Typical. Uh oh. Jay-Z has a blowtorch! Kanye West has a Jaws of Life saw thingy. They are ominously approaching the Maybach. This doesn’t look good for the Maybach.

As suspected, now Jay-Z and Kanye and a bunch of their auto shop class buddies have sliced and diced the Maybach SlapChop style.  Money ain’t a thang.

They’re acting a little silly acting out the intro. It seems like they’re… having fun! Wouldn’t you be? Big American flag backdrop. They made it in America after all, right sweet baby Jesus?

Big abandoned parking lot. Rocking donuts in the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome-looking leftover Maybach contraption with some chicks hanging on for dear life in the back seat. Broken Maybachs fit four in the back, three if they’re fat.

They’re not fat.

LOL at Kanye skipping stones in the big parking lot.

You won’t murk anyone Jay. We don’t believe you. You need more…

Hey, who’s that helping ghost-ride the skeletonwhip?

Hey there he is again! In a suit.

What’s up on the roof? They looked like people. I thought it’d be funny if it were, like, people who weren’t supposed to be there, and no one ever noticed them there. I cheated and stopped the video. They’re not people. They look like big rocket lauchers but I’m pretty sure they’re not rocket launchers.

Yay, chicks are back.

Boo, they’re gone again very quickly.

Hm. No Castro cameo. Odd.

When the chicks are in slow motion in the back of the molested Maybach, it’s like a weird Gap commercial.

Aaaaand we’re done. Wait! What was that, something about proceeds will be donated… something… Oh well, must not have been as important as EXPLOSIONS!
