“Socially relevant music.” We often hear the call for it, and Megaciph is helping deliver it with his upcoming album Migration of the Souled Kind. With Migration, Megaciph, founder of ThatsGoodness and a Harlem Children’s Zone counselor, aims to speak to the unhealthy attitudes of today’s youth.
We all know that “music with a message” receives little to no coverage in the music media world, so we wanted to do our part to bring attention to Megaciph’s upcoming release with “So High,” an exclusive track from Migration of the Souled Kind. It’s a raw sounding, smoothed out vibe that should whet the appetite of those who seek more of this important sub-genre of hip hop.
Migration of the Souled Kind drops August 19 with an event at NYC’s Sullivan Hall. Check out what Megaciph is working with, and check our events calendar for information on The Vital Movement, a weekly open mic event allowing artists a platform “to develop, create strong ties to the community of Hip-hop and independent music and be part of the ThatsGoodness community.”
“Migration of the Souled Kind is a piece of the journey through the life of a young black male in America. It is poignant and soulful without being preachy or depressing. This is my sophomore solo album and it features production from !llmind, Too Deep and ZQ The Beat Abbot and a host of guest features to really spice things up for all the Hip-hoppers trying to fall back in love with the culture.”
