Wu-Tang Clan at SXSW Music 2011 [SXSW Hip Hop]

If we have to tell you who the Wu-Tang Clan is, you’re on the wrong site. Likely the world’s most well-known and successful rap conglomerate ever, the Staten Island (and Brooklyn) supergroup has faced all of the trials and tribulations of rock bands throughout history, somehow staying together enough to reappear for performances as a collective from time to time (sans the departed Ol’ Dirty Bastard, though ODB’s son, the fittingly named Young Dirty Bastard, does a fine tribute.)

Wu-Tang Clan at South By Southwest (SXSW) at the Village Voice x Frank 151 party
Wu-Tang Clan - Thursday, March 17 - Austin Music Hall

Individually, many Wu-Tang Clan members have had successful solo careers, with several continuing to support each other’s efforts, as Raekwon and Ghostface Killah have often demonstrated, but despite the solid performances that any combination of these wordsmiths can deliver, the more, the merrier, and the South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival 2011 may be just large enough an event to bring out the entire squad.

Wu-Tang Clan is pretty much the headlining act (along with Fishbone) at the Village Voice and Frank 151 SXSW party. Other names at the all-day/night affair, Yelawolf, Rocky Business, Trouble Andrew, Trae Tha Truth, Marz Lovejoy, Wild Flag and Ume.

And on the wheels of steel? Erykah Badu. Nice! (Hope she paid that fine.)

So, if you’re in Austin, Texas for the South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival on March 17, between 5 p.m. and 2 p.m., swing on down to the Austin Music Hall, and take in the delight that is the Village Voice/Frank 151 SXSW party.

It ain’t nuthin’ to f*%k wit.
