Long Island’s Reek Da Villian is now known as Reek DeVille, and smooths out his sound a bit to go along with the new moniker on “How U Like Me Now,” the first release from Reek’s upcoming EP How To Be A Player,
Despite a rugged debut on the Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz-fueled “Mechanics” (which spawned a star-studded remix that added Vado, Cam’ron, DJ Khaled, Method Man and Nelly into the mix), Reek showed range in his 2010 mixtape release The Gift, and now spends a little time explaining to the ladies he’s not lock-down material at the moment, on “How U Like Me Now.” (Which features Long Island chanteuse Sam B. on the hook, who we really enjoyed on “Promise Land,” off of The Gift.)
“How U Like Me Now” is from Reek’s upcoming EP, which appears themed after the Eddie Murphy movie of the same name, and will be presented through By Any Means and FreeOnSmash.com.
Birthplace Magazine spent some time speaking with Reek about his rising status in the hip hop game, how he got his start, and what his upcoming goals are. Stay tuned for that interview, coming soon.
In the meantime, check out Reek DeVille and Sam B. on the Seige Monstracity-produced “How U Like Me Now.”
