Update: Though the copyright police moved in and killed the YouTube vid, WorldStarHipHop still has it, see below… In any case, check 106 and Park later today for the official premiere. And watch as Hot 97’s Angie Martinez-and-‘nem rocks the song, karaoke-style.
Well, I wasn’t too thrilled with “Look At Me Now,” the Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne joint that I felt was lyrically and musically a bit sub-par. I did, however, admit that it’s a cool in-the-club song, and it is. A silly song that has little long-term value, but that in the short term, makes people move they asses. Chalk it up to personal preference, I just thought Chris Brown’s content was terrible, Busta’s style was great, but he wasn’t saying anything, and Lil Wayne kinda phoned it in, he’s way nicer than this verse. But that’s just me.
The video for “Look At Me Now,” supposed to premiere on 106 and Park later today, apparently was leaked early, so excited fans of Breezy et. al. get to see the energetic visual counterpart to the song a little bit early. Chris Brown, not amused, tweeted, “That’s not the final edit of LAMN! Watch 106 and park tomorrow to see!! How does a video leak? C’mon son!!”
Um. Just like how pictures from police precincts leak, I guess. Just saying.
Anyway, the song still hasn’t grown too much on me, though it’s ok for what it is, but the highly stylized, jumpy, dance-filled video was a fun watch. The video has been removed due to the unauthorized leak, so catch the official deal on BET’s 106 and Park later today.
