Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Travis Barker and Mixmaster Mike roll into the New York area March 27, purposefully neglecting New York City, selecting Long Island’s Nassau Coliseum as the venue of choice for Wayne’s “I Am Music II” tour, his first since his November 2010 release from behind bars.
Lil Wayne has publicly stated his distaste for New York City proper since his arrest on a weapons charge in 2007, and subsequent incarceration, telling Rolling Stone he has no plans to ever perform back within the five boroughs. Nassau Coliseum, located outside of the city in neighboring Nassau County, will be the only New York stop for the 25-city tour, aside from its kickoff in Buffalo on March 18.
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster beginning Friday, February 4, 2011 at 10 a.m. Lil Wayne’s album The Carter IV, his ninth studio album, is tentatively scheduled to drop in April.
