Kanye West and Jay-Z drop “H.A.M.,” the first single from their upcoming joint LP, Watch The Throne. The anticipation for the album, and the lead single in particular, amped up since Kanye took to his infamous Twitter outlet announcing the 1.11.11 release of “H.A.M.”
Lex Luger, who crafted tracks for Rick Ross (“B.M.F.”), Waka Flocka Flame (“Hard In The Paint”) and Kanye West (“See Me Now”), was rumored to have been the man behind the music on this one, and pretty much confirms this to MTV. The track goes for an epic feel, and the orchestration after the verses actually isn’t bad, but somehow, even with a cinematic attempt on the beat and these two heavyweights on board, H.A.M. seems inferior.
Before we got our hands on the song, we saw a flurry of comments over the internet, and the response has not been all good. One lovable interpretation of H.A.M. was delivered by @lsessoms: “Horrendous And Mediocre.”
We chuckled. Then listened. Then agreed.
