The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program, the long-running monthly new artist showcase, will have it’s next edition on January 19th, 2011, at Club Pyramid in Manhattan. This showcase series is run by A.D. The General and her N.A.N./N.A.B. team of artist entrepreneurs. A.D. The General is also a contributor to Birthplace Magazine, having penned several interview articles with up and coming artists as well as other individuals involved in New York City hip hop.
The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program’s monthly showcase events culminate into a year-end award event, the last one occurring in December of 2010 (video below). The goal of the series is to help artists achieve a buzz by connecting them with various media sources. The EHMP also sponsors a New York City park tour, and has set up similar showcase operations in areas outside of New York City as well, including Atlanta, Miami, San Diego and Kansas City. A.D. The General also hosts a weekly internet radio program, Memoirs with A.D. The General every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at www.livestream.com/streetmarketradio.
January’s EHMP will take place at Club Pyramid, 101 Ave. A (bet. 6th and 7th), Manhattan, at 8 p.m., general admission if $15. Music by DJ Ace of Spades. There may still be spots available for performers for January’s event, and for the 2011 Park Tour. Contact A.D. The General at 718-415-6610 for more information.
