Update: The “Monster” video, starring Rick Ross, Kanye West, Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj, has finally dropped/leaked. Watch it online at www.BirthplaceMag.com.
We don’t normally do the behind-the-scenes thing, but because the video for the Kanye West / Rick Ross / Jay-Z / Nicki Minaj song “Monster” is shaping up to be a pretty anticipated release, we thought we’d take a look at the BTS footage circulating the web today.
It’s interesting to say the least.

The YouTube clip shows active filming of Rick Ross’ part in the “Monster” video, and while his contribution to the song is relatively short, the imagery associated with him during the BTS clip gives a taste (no pun intended) of the type of video being assembled by director Jake Nava. You can also see a brief showing of storyboards which similarly depict an eerie, gory theme.
No word on how far along the shoot is, or when the video will be released, but it’s likely to be a … well.. a monster.
