DJ Cipha Sounds Suspended by Hot 97 Over Controversial Remarks Regarding Haitian Women

Cipha Sounds, morning show DJ on Hot 97, suspended indefinitely over controversial commentsMorning show personality DJ Cipha Sounds has been suspended indefinitely by NY hip hop radio station Hot 97, over controversial statements made during the Cipha Sounds and Rosenberg Morning Show last week.

The statements, and the reaction of audience members, community activists and the Haitian community at large has been bubbling in the days since the comments were made, and despite an on-air apology, Cipha Sounds has been suspended until further notice by the station.

The suspension comes after recent morning show changes at crosstown rival Power 105.1 brought Angela Yee over from satellite radio, to join former Hot 97 DJ Envy and former WBLS personality Charlamagne Tha God in replacing longtime morning show host Ed Lover.

Charlamagne himself had choice words for Cipha Sounds in response to the situation.

Below is Cipha Sounds’ apology, and the Fox5 report on his suspension.
