Act Live Music has been, as they state, “working diligently for the past 3 years to organize underground hip-hop/electronic events, as well as produce exciting and original music releases all to promote the work of lesser known artists who are making their mark across the country.” Many of these artists are well known in the New York-area underground, and many have been profiled in our e-pages over the past year.
Act Live Music is taking their efforts to the proverbial next level as they announce the launch of their “label phase,” complete with a mixtape release, single release, video premiere screening and hefty line-up of NYC-area underground heavyweights helping celebrate the occasion at Southpaw on December 8, 2010.
The event coincides with the December 7th release of their lead single, “King of Kings” featuring Homeboy Sandman (the first of our “5 Reasons Why New York Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck“), P.SO (whose More Jelly mixtape we featured), and Jah La Eer. The video for “King of Kings” will be premiered at the event as well.
Performing at the event: P.SO, Moses Rockwell, I Am Many, Deep Of The 2 Hungry Bros, Jinesis, Oronde Baltimore, Filthy Funk ft. Danielle Ponder, OISD, Warren Britt, DJ Ease & DJ Tim Tones, JunClassic and Monsta X of The Monsta Island Czars.
To get a taste of the type of talent Act Live Music is working with, be sure to download the King of Kings Pre Party Mixtape and if you dig what you hear, be sure to make your way to the event on December 8, 2010 at Southpaw in Brooklyn. Doors at 9 p.m., admission a mere $10. (Rochester gets its own party, a similarly stacked event on December 10 at The Dub Land Underground).
