Win Passes To See Slick Rick at B.B. King’s on Friday, Nov. 12 [NYC Event]

Slick Rick “The Ruler” hits the stage at the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill Friday Night (Nov. 12) continuing the trend made current by the latest Rock The Bells festival, performing his seminal album The Great Adventures of Slick Rick in it’s entirety. The concept of full-album performances was utilized by Rock The Bells, whose 2010 festival featured several hip hop heavyweights doing the same, including Wu-Tang Clan with 36 Chambers, Snoop Dogg with Doggystyle and the inimitable Lauryn Hill with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

This time, Slick Rick will be knocking out veritable hip hop classics such as “Children’s Story” and “Mona Lisa” in front of a normally-eager B.B. King Blues Club hip hop crowd. The venue was named one of Birthplace Magazine’s “5 Reasons Why New York Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck” in August, 2010.

While The Great Adventures of Slick Rick was notable for it’s lack of featured “guests,” we expect to see a couple of surprises, and BirthplaceMag.com will be in the house checking out the show, especially after having seen Slick Rick’s old school partner in crime Doug E. Fresh on Long Island over the summer.

Hey, is Friday going to be “one of those days (not much to do)”… Want to go to B.B. King’s too? Birthplace Magazine, in conjunction with the fine folks at the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill, has two pairs of passes to see the hip hop legend this Friday, November 12. Just tell us who you are below, and we’ll pick two random winners by midday Thursday. Good luck!

Ok, we’re a bit late with the announcement, but the contest is over. Thanks for entering. BIG ONE coming up soon, stay tuned. Meanwhile, congrats to our winners Erica K. & Zulma A.!
