Q&A With TwonDon, 17 Year Old MC Representing NJ/BK

TwonDon, is a 17 year old young, black entrepreneur of sorts, a go-getter with a mind frame set on positivity, with plenty of goals and ambitions accomplished as he makes a name for himself, his music, and his movement through countless hours of hard work and grind via the web. He doesn’t stop there. Numerous songs, countless shows, appearances, and collaborations help prove that if you put your all into something, you can achieve it. Being the self-proclaimed “Best Teenage Rapper Alive” is very hard work, especially when you have to prove that to the rest of the world. With thousands of TwonDon fans nationwide believing in his promise, Ms. FeFe of N.A.B. took a look at this teenage hip hop “phenom”; loved by many, tested by some, but guided by truth. No profanity, no disrespect, no gimmicks, just good clean music.

N.A.B.: Please describe TwonDon to the world.

TwonDon: TwonDon is the next best thing when it comes to music. TwonDon is a role model, big brother, little brother, great son and a gift to the world. TwonDon is a person still finding himself and music is helping that. TwonDon is a growing hip hop artist out of Englewood, NJ but born in Brooklyn, NY. I’ve been doing music for two years now but been wanting to do it since 13 years old. TwonDon is original and self-made.

N.A.B.: So you say you are a 17 year old hip hop “phenom”? What makes you so phenomenal?

TwonDonTwonDon: What makes me so phenomenal is my image and the way I carry myself. I’m a young black male that has his head on straight. I don’t think you can say that too much today about our society, just being real. I know what I want in life. I know how to get it and nothing’s going to stop me from that. When it comes to the music side, all my lyrics are clean, respectful, real and versatile. It’s no way you can’t respect and love what I do and what I’m about.

N.A.B.: You don’t curse in your music, that is very impressive. Was it your choice to pursue your music that way?

TwonDon: It was my choice and a few others that surround me such as my mom. When I first started music I was 15 years old. Try listening to a 15 year old make music and you hear curses. No one is going to take you serious and it makes you as a person look unprofessional.

N.A.B.: How is the relationship with your mother, as her being your manager?

TwonDon: Our relationship is beautiful. My mom means everything to me. I actually label her as my “momager”. There’s nothing I can’t go to my mom about. She knows the ins and outs of this music business, so as me being her son/artist, I am going to be treated well.

N.A.B.: Tell us about Upper Class Ent.? When was it established?

TwonDon: Upper Class Ent. is me. Upper Class was established in 2006, first as just a group of my boys and I, which was then known as “Upper Class Kids.” We started as a group that just dressed nice, stayed within the group and lived life. When the music scene started to progress with me as an artist, I changed the name into Upper Class Ent because we was starting to become a business, more then just a group of kids.

N.A.B.: Why do you call yourself the “Internet King”?

TwonDon: I’ve become the “Internet King” by having over 13,000 MySpace friends, over 3,000 Twitter followers, over 80 YouTube videos with over 500 views each, with over 1,500 Facebook friends, over 3,000 “fans” on the Upper Class fan page on Facebook, being on over 20 blog sites/music sites and more. There isn’t a social network or mixtape site you go too and they don’t have my music. I’ve invaded every website possible. My buzz is outrageous.

N.A.B.: Were can we see TwonDon five years from now?

TwonDon: Sometimes that question scares me because the future can hold anything. It’s only been two years and so much has been accomplished. I think if I’m given five more years I’ll be worldwide known and having everyone that supported me from day one proud of me. This dream I’m living will be reality.

N.A.B.: Any last words or shout outs?

TwonDon: First and foremost shout out to my God. Huge shout out to the N.A.N./N.A.B. family for putting this together. All shout outs go to my mother, family, friends, supporters and fans. Without ya’ll, my pride will be broken. Shout out all the blog sites and music sites that support TwonDon. My last words are, never let anyone bring you down. I’ve been through beefs and hate all because of music but if you love something and work hard enough you’ll get it. ENGLEWOOD/BROOKLYN WE ALMOST FAMOUS BABY!!
