With the impending non-leaked drops of Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday, Lloyd Banks’ Hunger For More 2 and Monday’s NY-heavy performance at the B.B. Kings Blues Club featuring, among a dozen others, Joell Ortiz, we decided a quick trifecta of mainstream new music was in order, rather than three separate posts.
We’ve been watching Nicki Minaj on her promo blitz for Pink Friday, most interesting lately her “Right Thru Me” video, her flamboyant vs. flamboyant interview with Perez Hilton, the leak of Pink Friday and “Blazin,” her duet with Kanye West. Pink Friday can be officially purchased here, and Ms Minaj will be lighting up the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thanksgiving night. Tickets for Nicki Minaj at Hammerstein Ballroom can be purchased here.
As for Lloyd Banks, who we recently named one of our “5 Reasons Why New York Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck,” his Hunger For More 2 has been buzzing pretty hard as well, with his weekly Blue Friday music series and collaborations with folks like the aforementioned Kanye West, it seems as if Lloyd Banks will be delivering a strong project. Check for Lloyd Banks’ documentary showing the making of his album, dropping later this week
Joell Ortiz, one of our inaugural “5 Reasons” has also been lighting things up since the summer, paving the way for a highly anticipated Free Agent, dropping November 30. Ortiz, along with Joe Budden, Vado, Maino and a host of NY-centric acts will be appearing en masse at the B.B. King Blues Club Monday, November 22. Though our free passes have been awarded, you can still purchase tickets here.
