UPDATE: Fred The Godson’s mixtape Armageddon is now available for free download.

As we stated when covering his track “Too Fat,” while watching Fred The Godson’s ascention, we wondered about the oft-repeated notion that punchline rappers can have trouble creating songs that match the buzz surrounding their battle efforts, or arrays of solid one-liners. We noted that with “So Crazy,” and “Too Fat,” Fred The Godson may have found a way to pull away from that theory, stating that his efforts “could help solidify Fred The Godson as more than just a battle spitter,” predicting that with the NY radio support and veteran co-signs, “Fred The Godson could have a chance to make some noise.”

For now, Armageddon is that noise, providing a chance to determine the speed at which Fred The Godson will continue his rise from the gritty side of the New York hip hop underground. By the sounds of the lead track, all hell might be about to break loose.
