The Nue Agency, a “boutique talent agency” in New York City, is holding an interesting looking showcase Friday, October 22 as part of the 2010 CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival. The showcase takes place at Sullivan Hall, and doors open at 7 p.m.
Since we also love New York, we might swing through this one. The lineup is a bit eclectic, showcasing hip hop/rock/punk influenced groups like Shinobi Ninja and Vonnegutt, so we’ll be putting out alt-rap hats on for this one. Rounding out the lineup, Hoodie Allen, Gordon Voidwell, The Dean’s List, All Out, Steflang, 5 & A Dime and will feature AudioDax and a Tru Statement Cypher.
As a matter of fact, the last time we were at Sullivan Hall was for a Tru Statement event, the fantastically choreographed live band tribute to A Tribe Called Quest, featuring 20+ underground NYC MCs paying homage to the hometown greats [“Did They Kick It? Yes, They Did!“]. One thing we recall is that acoustics sound great at Sullivan Hall, so we expect that if the talent is up to par, this will be a cool event.
Sullivan Hall is at 214 Sullivan St. Doors open at 7 p.m. with a $15 cover.
