Digiwaxx, our good friends at The Bloom Effect, and Miz Metro present Import/Export: The International Hip Hop Showcase, as part of the 2010 CMJ Music Marathon and Film Festival, going down Thursday, October 21 at 92YTribeca. As the only official international hip hop event at CMJ, Import/Export promises to deliver a dynamic mix of talent from literally all over the world.
Scheduled to perform at the event, Philemon (France), Erin Barra (U.S.), Sagol 59 (Israel), Emmanuel Jal (Sudan), Cherry L (St. Lucia), LidoLido (Norway), DJ Logan Sama (U.K.) and the debut performance of Bab Collective, featuring Miz Metro, feleciacruz and Adrienne Mack Davis (U.S.).
The show will be hosted by Eternia (Canada/U.S.), who we recently enjoyed covering, opening for Joell Ortiz at Southpaw. DJ Mikey Fresh will be holding down the ones and twos and there will be CD giveaways and one of the “first ever mobile ringtone mixtapes.”
Sponsoring the event are Digiwaxx, Myxer, Fusicology, World Hip Hop Market, Coast 2 Coast, feleciacruz, Popular Printing, Brooklyn Bodega, Nomadic Wax, The Bloom Effect, SpillsMusic, End of the Weak, CMJ and 92Tribeca.
92YTribeca is located at 200 Hudson St., NYC. Doors open at 7 p.m., the show starts at 8 p.m. First 100 CMJ badges allowed free, afterward, and for the badgeless, it’s $15 cover. A small price to pay for such a worldly sampling of hip hop.
