Diddy announced the release date for Last Train To Paris, the long-awaited album from Diddy – Dirty Money, consisting of Diddy himself, and singers Dawn Richard and Kaleena. In a YouTube video released on PTwittyTV, Puff Daddy’s YouTube channel, the trio spoke on the delay, the content of the project and the marketing being planned for the release.
“We wasn’t ready. We thought we was ready. We wanted to shoot a whole bunch of videos ahead of time so when the album comes out, you guys’ll be able to go on your iPad and see like six, seven, eight of the videos,” Diddy explains. “We wanted to come and hit you with a new way of doing things, and with that, it takes time.” Diddy detailed some high-tech marketing plans, for example, the planned inclusion of bar codes on clothing and on outdoor advertising that will be able to be scanned, leading to album downloads.
Diddy also jokingly blamed the delay on his weight, saying he needed to lose some pounds before coming back out.
The video concluded with “behind the scenes” footage of the photo shoot for the group’s album.
Last Train To Paris will be released December 14, 2010.
