Eminem and Jay-Z re-ignited Yankee Stadium last night (9/14) for their second concert in New York City, the final show in the Home and Home concert series that originated in Detroit’s Comerica Park [click for recap] last month and culminated with this back-to-back mega-event in the Big Apple. Once again the star power was intense as special guests delighted the 40,000+ in attendance, who witnessed performances from music heavyweights including Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, B.o.B., J.Cole, Drake, Swizz Beatz, Beyonce, Dr. Dre, D12, Memphis Bleek and Mary J. Blige. Jay-Z stopping to recognize legendary hip hop pioneer Kool Herc was a nice touch as well.
While the fervor incited by Tuesday’s also-sold-out show didn’t quite elevate to the past-fever-pitch achieved during Monday night’s performance [click for full recap], the excitement was still palpable, both on the streets of the Bronx, and on the internet, with snippets of eyewitness reports fluttering around Twitter and Facebook all throughout the evening. When all was said and done, good weather, an iconic venue, and a highly talented and energetic cast of characters seemingly left a highly favorable and indelible impression on New York-area concert-goers.
As mega-concerts go, these will be hard to top.
Here are an assortment of links to official news sources and unofficial recaps of Tuesday’s Jay-Z and Eminem Home and Home Concert at Yankee Stadium (we previously did the same for Monday’s Jay-Z and Eminem Home and Home Concert at Yankee Stadium, including the much-heralded Jay-Z/Kanye/Nicki performance of “Monster“). We’ll be updating throughout the day as we come across more good stuff. Enjoy!
