The Fall Initiative 2010 Hip Hop Show and Charity Fundraiser takes place the evening of September 11, 2010 at The Fifth Estate, in Brooklyn, NY. The event, hosted by NJ rapper Hasan Salaam (one of our “5 Reasons Why NY Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck“), will serve as a fundraiser to help support the fourth season of Initiative Radio With Angela McKenzie, a nationally syndicated radio program focused on discussing philanthropic and altruistic activities of corporations, organizations and individuals, as well as to allow a platform for underappreicated artists, and to discuss social issues, particularly those which affect urban youth. Initiative Radio operates under the umbrella of The AMcK Initiative, Inc. (AMcK), a non-profit co-founded by Ms. McKenzie.
Fall Initiative 2010 will present a bevy of underground NYC artists, including S-Dub (aka Shabaam Sahdeeq), ElaNEF & L.I.F.E. Long, Translucent, Super King Armor, Mavric, Dahlia Dumont, Omar Wilson, Kuzin, MC Faceman, Mugsy, Jesse Abraham, Stark the Dutch and Johnny 3 Rounds.
Handling the DJ duties for the evening, DJ Brown 13 and Dee Shot. VR Photo will be photographing the event.
The Fifth Estate is located at 506 5th Ave., between 12th and13th Streets, in Brooklyn (F / G / R trains to 4th Ave.). Doors open at 9pm, entrance is $10 (a donation, to help fund the programming). 21 and over.
